Rest in East are pleased to note that both the Progressive Unionist Party candidates in the Pottinger and Victoria Wards (Local Council Election) have included Glentoran's relocation in their election literature (copies to follow). Both David Ervine and John McQuillan (PUP) have stated that "Glentoran must remain in East Belfast". Council support will be imperative if Glentoran intend to move on certain sites, so we believe that the inclusion and recognition of the current situation on not one but two party manifestoes now is extremely encouraging.
Many Thanks to Mr Tony Whitehead for yesterday's discussions, both parties have promised to keep in touch.

Rest in East would like to thank Glentoran Project Manager Mr Gilbert Graham for his time today. The meeting lasted almost 3 hours discussing a variety of options, both past and present, open to Glentoran Football Club re a possible stadium re-location in East Belfast. We are assured Glentoran FC are actively pursuing a number of locations within the 'Rest in East' preferred confines, and will update you further when prudent to do so.
Many thanks also to Mr Howard Wells, Chief Executive of the Irish Football Association. Mr Wells met with 'Rest in East' today at the IFA's Windsor Avenue Headquarters. Amongst other things discussed were the problems facing football here in the Province as a whole, much of which it would seem has more than a passing influence on the current situation facing the Glens.
Thanks to Mr Wells the group have now also been fast-tracked to the people at the head of funding here at the Sports Council for Northern Ireland.

Rest in East would like to thank Mr David Chick for his valuable time yesterday. Members of the group held extremely informative and refreshingly frank discussions for over 2 hours with the Glentoran President, a meeting we think both parties would readily agree was 'mutually benificial'. We were also delighted to accept Mr Chicks' offers of assistance, and will keep you abreast of any major developments.
